Not long after I got out of college, a very reputable performance Angus breeder with three generations of registered cattle breeding experience, made a statement to me. He told me when I can have a set of bulls for sale, and can accurately tell the prospective buyers what the bulls will or wonâ€™t do when used on the buyerâ€™s cows, you will be in a great position to move forward and help your customers make money.
Last summer, I was calling on many of the people who had used our bulls the previous year and was inquiring how the calves were doing. While visiting with Mike and Shane Dohrman, Mike made the comment: The Bull did exactly what you said he would. When Mike made that statement, I was reminded of my conversation with Mark Gardiner. We are working forward to building more relationships with many cattlemen that can confidently turn out bulls that can build cowherds that will address the needs of the individual cattlemen.
